The final touches are being put in place to reopen Beirut markets tomorrow, Thursday, in a ceremony expected to be attended by political, economic and social figures.
Beirut’s markets have suffered great difficulties for years, starting with the financial crisis that began in 2019 and the demonstrations that accompanied it, through the spread of the Corona pandemic, successive political and security crises, and the recent Israeli war on Lebanon, which led to the closure of many restaurants and major shops.
However, in recent months, Beirut markets have witnessed a remarkable renaissance, with more than 200 shops and restaurants opening and attracting international brands, making it once again an attractive point for investors.
It is expected that downtown Beirut will witness, in parallel with the reopening of the markets, distinctive activities and celebrations as the Christmas season and the end of the year approach.
