The Minister of Agriculture, Nizar Hani, congratulated 24 employees included in Decree No. 3871, which promoted them from the third category to the second category in the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture – General Directorate of Agriculture, and appointed them to central and regional leadership positions, wishing them success in their new tasks.
Minister Hani explained that these promotions go beyond settling deserved administrative situations, to constitute an essential institutional step in the process of reactivating the administrative and technical pyramid of the Ministry, addressing vacancies, and enhancing the ability to implement agricultural policies and serve farmers in various Lebanese regions. He pointed out that this entitlement reflects an appreciation for the competencies and professional careers of those awarded, and places on them a double responsibility for preserving the public interest and achievement.
Hani thanked the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, the Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, the Minister of Finance, Yassin Jaber, the Civil Service Council, and the relevant supervisory and administrative bodies, praising their cooperation in completing the file in accordance with legal procedures. He also thanked the Director General of Agriculture, Engineer Louis Lahoud, for his diligent follow-up and efforts to bring the file to completion, stressing that this achievement reflects the importance of institutional cooperation in restoring order to public administration in accordance with standards of efficiency and equal opportunities.
The Minister announced that the process of promotions is continuing and will not stop at this stage, as it will later include heads of departments and supervisors in the General Directorate of Agriculture, along with heads of departments in the General Directorate of Cooperatives, within an integrated plan to build an effective administrative chain and establish the principle of entitlement to raise the quality of services provided to citizens.
Hani stressed that modernizing the agricultural sector is closely linked to the presence of a strong administration capable of transforming plans and strategies into tangible results, indicating that these promotions fall within a broader workshop to modernize the administrative structure of the ministry, enhance governance, and respond to the needs of the sector.
In conclusion, the Minister of Agriculture stressed that the Ministry is continuing to build a modern and effective institution based on specialization and efficiency, considering investment in people and institutions the real gateway to reform, ensuring support for rural development, enhancing national food security, and protecting natural resources.
