Xiaomi has officially announced its new foldable phone, “Xiaomi 18 Fold,” which is the company’s first wide-screen foldable phone, in a move aimed at competing with the most prominent devices in this category, led by the “Huawei Pura








The “Xiaomi 18 Fold” comes with an asymmetric design for the external screen and very thin bezels, which gives it a different appearance from traditional foldable phones. The external screen includes a central hole for the front camera, while the back of the phone includes a prominent horizontal bar containing 3 cameras.

As for the main screen, it includes an internal camera in the upper right corner, with thin bezels and a relatively high layer of protection to enhance durability during folding. The phone is available in 4 colors: black, gold, and red, in addition to a special ceramic version.

The phone includes an external OLED screen measuring 5.38 inches and with a resolution of 1712 x 1168 pixels, with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a touch response rate of 300 Hz.

When you open the phone, a 7.58-inch AMOLED main screen with a resolution of 1672 x 2364 pixels appears, with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a touch response of 240 Hz. The maximum brightness of the screen reaches 4000 nits, and “UTG” glass is used to protect the foldable screen.

The “Xiaomi 18 Fold” works with the “XRING O3” processor, which is the latest internally developed Xiaomi processor, with multiple memory and storage options.

The basic version comes with 12 GB of “LPDDR5X” random access memory, with a storage space of 512 GB. There is also a version with 16 GB of RAM, with the option of “LPDDR5X” and a storage space of 512 GB, or “LPDDR6” with a storage space of 1 TB. All versions use UFS 4.1 storage.

The phone contains a 6000 mAh battery, which supports 67-watt wired charging and 50-watt wireless charging, in addition to supporting 50-watt wired charging via the “PPS” standard. It also includes a side fingerprint sensor integrated into the power and lock button.

In terms of photography, Xiaomi provided the phone with a 200-megapixel main camera and an f/1.7 lens aperture, with support for optical image stabilization (OIS).

It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel periscope camera with an f/2.8 lens aperture, providing up to 3.5 times optical zoom, and up to 7 times optical zoom, with support for optical stabilization.

The phone also includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and an f/2.4 lens aperture, while the resolution of the front camera on both screens is 16 megapixels.

The “Xiaomi 18 Fold” supports two SIM cards, a “USB Type-C” port with the “USB 3.2” standard, and “Bluetooth 6.0” and “Wi-Fi 7” technologies. The phone runs on the “HyperOS 4” interface, which is based on the “Android 17” system.

The price of the phone in the Chinese market starts at 12,999 yuan, or about $1,937, for the version with 12 GB of random memory, while its price is expected to rise if Xiaomi decides to launch it in global markets.
